🎤 “Una Chica Ye-Yé” — A Spanish Classic
Not many people today know about one of Spain’s most iconic songs — and no, I’m not talking about “La Macarena” or “Aserejé” by Las Ketchup. I’m talking about the unforgettable “Una chica ye-yé”, released in 1965 and performed by the beloved Conchita Velasco.
Now known as Concha Velasco, she was a young actress at the time and never considered herself a singer. While filming a movie, she was asked to perform this song — and the rest is history. The role and the song became so iconic that she’s still affectionately known as “la chica ye-yé”.
🌟 A Multi-Talented Star
Concha Velasco is a true artist — an accomplished actress, dancer, singer, and television presenter. She’s one of my personal favorites, always carrying herself with grace and charisma. For newcomers to Spanish entertainment, she sets a high bar!
Now in her 70s, she remains as charming as ever — I’d even say she’s like a Spanish Meryl Streep, with a legacy that spans generations.
